our process

Designing the system is the most important procedure in achieving a beautiful lawn that will survive the hot days of summer.

water supply

Our design process starts with the water supply. Whether you are on well or city water, each design should be based on water pressure and line size. On city water systems, the pressure and water flow remain constant with small variations due to peak or non-peak usage. Well systems rely on a pressure tank to operate the pump and the pressure usually fluctuates 20PSI. The most critical data to designing a system on well water is the well itself. We need to determine if the well produces enough water to support the system. This information is usually available through the company that drilled the well, or through the state where this information is kept on file. If not, then a test is performed to determine the supply of the well. Once all the information is received, we will design a system that will supply the right amount of water for your system while still leaving adequate water for your household use.

sprinkler layout

Another critical aspect of the design is the layout of the sprinklers. Head-to-Head coverage is a term used in the industry to insure that adequate coverage is achieved. It is important to space each sprinkler the proper distance, allowing for wind and water pressure variations, so that each sprinkler reaches each other.

plant bed design

Designing irrigation for plant beds can be done two ways. The first is to overspray the area with conventional sprinklers. The other is to use subsurface irrigation such as drip lines. There are pros and cons to both, and this should be discussed prior to installation to determine the most efficient application.

installation

All systems are installed with a Ditch Witch vibratory plow which vibrates the pipe into the ground. This eliminates any need for trenching and backfilling. This method causes minimal disturbance to the lawn, with no settling afterwards.

Please feel free to contact me anytime. I would be happy to meet you and discuss your irrigation needs. We look forward to working with you in the future.

Sincerely,
Robert Paxton
